About
Unexpected Farm
Owned and operated by riding and horsemanship trainer Chelsea Canedy, Unexpected Farm was born from a series of events that never could have been planned.

In 2020, what began as a casual suggestion to consider buying a farm unfolded into the unexpected opportunity to create a permanent home for Chelsea’s family, her horses, and a growing community of learners.
The farm’s name also honors Chelsea’s horse Eddie, whose show name was Unexpected. Eddie set Chelsea on a path that would transform both her work and her life, ultimately leading her to the distinctive round barn and unfinished property that would become Unexpected Farm.

Building the farm took vision, persistence, and the support of countless friends, family, and community members who believed in what it could become. Today, Unexpected Farm is more than a place to ride. It is a place where people come together to learn, challenge themselves, and discover new ways of thinking about horses, horsemanship, and themselves. Its story serves as a reminder that some of life's most meaningful opportunities are often the ones we never saw coming.
